my fingernails are starting upward what can I do?

fingernails are curling away fro my finger in the center and trrning up and doown at the end making them wavy. I have been able to reduce this by keeping my fingernails cut very short. But now the situation is causing my nails to be very short. The nails are not discollered. What can I do for this?
