REPLIED Check Mark

Generally this type of pain/numbness indicates entrapped or pinched nerve. Which may be carpal tunnel related or with the ulnar/median nerves. You need to see your doctor for further evaluation. Generally a NCV and/or EMG test can indicate where this is occurring for proper treatment. If left untreated could cause further damage.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

It can come on all of a sudden or perhaps a little at a time and you just didn't pay too much attention to it. Just let him know what you have asked in your question. If I'm understanding you correctly, when you say shooting pain, you are referring to an electrocution pain... which is just what you tell the doctor.

here is a site that will explain about the tests.

I know they sound terrible, but I have had them, it is not that bad at all. Plus the information you get from them, is just remarkable which will be able to see where this is occurring for proper treatment.

Hope this helps Hun
