I have a numb 2nd finger and my hand falls asleep every few hours. My doctor did an MRI and X-ray and found nothing but a slightly bulging disk between c6 and c7. I have no other pain, weakness etc. I am extremely active, healthy 30 yr old. My massage therapist said my pec on that side was tight. He thought maybe TOS...but that seems to affect the 4th and 5th finger. Any suggestions?

REPLIED Check Mark

Generally numbness indicates entrapped or pinched nerve. From the information you have given, sounds as though this is related to the ulnar nerve. Request an NCV and/or EMG test, which can indicate where this is occurring for proper treatment. If left untreated could cause further damage.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don't forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and leave *POSITIVE* feedback.

The unlar nerve affects the fourth and fifth finger and not the thumb and second. I will be going back to my doctor next week and hopefully he can do more than therapy, which is doing no good!

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Your right, the last numbers that I read stuck in my head when I typed ulnar vs Median. However, if it's numbness related, I would request and NCV/EMG test, as this will indicate if it's actually nerve related or if it's due to circulation problem. If you don't get anywhere with your doctor, you can also follow up with a neurologist as well.

Hope this helps Hun
