Half of the nail on my middle finger has flattened out ...

Half of the nail on my middle finger has flattened out , leaving a high ridge down the center......I did not mash it or injure it in any other way,,,,,what could cause this>

Sorry, I can't send a picture, but I have Crohn's disease, and arthritis in my hands...also, at the base of my fingernail on my finger, there; appears to be something like a nodule, or a soft,swollen spot which is red.

Is it osteo artritis or rhuematoid arthritis?

Which joints are effected?

How long ago this nail flattening occured?

Any associated Pain?

Any signs of Pus or infection in nail?
