My 16 month old son fell last night about 10pm

My 16 month old son fell last night about 10pm and bite a hole in his tongue. What should we do. There is quite a hole from what we have been able to see and it has still been bleeding and it is 3 am? Please help!

Hi

I want you to attempt to hold his tounge between your thumb and index finger and compress the hole with tissue ( or something similar) for as long as he will tolerate - 5 mins would be good.

Hi

Yes tounges heel very well and quite quickly.

Look out for infection - swelling and pus ( yelow matter).

I'd only take him if the laceration was very large, he kept bleeding or ,as above, you suspected infection.
