My friend has a broken bone in his pinky finger. He told me that is is swollen and green, (although he admits that some of the swelling has gone down). his doctor says that it is fine, but green usualy indicates an infection. what could be causing his hand to turn green?

Hello,

Since the other expert is off line i am answering this .

The bluish green colour can definetly be due to clotting of blood after injury .This is called as haematoma formation .This usually needs no treatment and is usally self limiting . As such this doesnot seems to be much of worry .
