I suffered an injury to the medial region of my right ...

Sent to Health Experts February 16, 2007 2:04 p.m.

I suffered an injury to the medial region of my right thigh and right knee. This was three weeks ago. I was stomped on by another rugby player. I immediately felt and burning and bee sting type of pain. My mobility was not compromised, but I had developed a swelling region in the above injured region. Bruising set in days later and I iced immediately after the incident. Now all bruising is gone. There is no discoloration, but I still have this fluid build up and an itchy feeling. Will this go away with icing and anti-inflammatory meds? I have been able to compete and train @ 100%

Optional Information:
Male , Age: 31

To this point, you are describing the usual course of events.

"I still have this fluid build up and an itchy feeling"

Does this manifest as swelling or as a doughy feeling when pressed with your finger?

Does the finger impression persist for more than 30 seconds?

How large an area is involved?

Where is it in relation to your knee?

Is it at all tender?

Am I correct that you have full range of motion of knee and hip?

I teach medicine, so I am not on line regularly. However, I do check this site several times a day, Please be patient. I will answer.

I am sending this as an Info Request, so you can see it without paying. This is not an answer, so do not pay for it. You pay only for answers.
