Question

should i have the nail removed i is painful and discusting

i lost the tip of my finger in november i am still out of work i am a plumber the nail is growing back and very soar they told me that the nail was gone but it isn't i feel it should be removed due to the pain it is causing is this normal my doctor i don't think he understands i mean he wants me to go back to work this is crazy anyways i am seeing another doctor wednesday what do you think

Plumber,

If your finger tip was in partially amputated, and the growth tissue is still present, I would remove the distorted nail and fulgerate the remaining nail bed and growth tissue to prevent this from happening again.

Since in your case that nail bed cannot be repaired, it sould be removed/destroyed.
