Question

I'm 46 and have just recently started having numbness

Sent to Health Experts March 14, 2007 11:33 p.m.

I'm 46 and have just recently started having numbness and tingling in my left arm. I notice it the most on the inside of my bicep and it runs down my arm to my hand and including my hand partially. This pain and tingling is pretty much all the time and like a dull throbbing. Is this carpal tunnel and what can I do to eleviate it?

It's more like the meaty outside part of the hand. I haven't done anything about it.

Hello,

If the numbness and tingling involves the first 3 1/2 fingers , it is probably carpal tunnel syndrome. If numbness and tingling involves the half of the 4th finger and the 5th finger than it is probably ulnar tunnel syndrome. A pinced nerve in the neck may also needto be ruled out. I suggest to you to see a orthopedic surgeon. In the mean time you can take Tylenol tablet for the pain. For more information please check the links:
