My husband's finger was almost completely taken off 4

Sent to Health Experts April 07 10:19 PM

My husband's finger was almost completely taken off 4 days ago while he was working, the doctor had to stitch it back together, the pad is the part that had to be stitched back on, approx 20 stitches, that go from the tip down past the first knuckle then back up to the other side. It has been 4 days and today it is hurting unusually bad, there is some discoloration in the pad, it is starting to turn grey, the bottom part (next to the knuckle was turning green colored the yesterday, doesn't seem to be to green at the moment, but I am worried about infection. The doctor never did give him any antibiotics when he sent him home. He is feeling a little sick and icky, but should we be concerned?

I have called the E.R. in my town, and they wont say without looking at it. I hate to make a trip to the E.R. when it is not a life or death situation! I understand why, but I can't justify paying the E.R. Fee for just a simple question.

I'm not there to see this. However going by your description, I would highly suggest you at least have him seen to get this checked out in person. He should have at least gotten antibiotics. But either way, it should like he may need some now. And it's also possible the infection may be on the inside. Which if this is the case, they may even need to re-open it to make sure. But without actually seeing it, it's hard to say. So please, just to be safe, do have him seen tonight.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don't forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and please take a moment to leave me *POSITIVE* feedback.
