Sent to Health Experts May 13 04:30 PM

I have intermittent numbness in my 4th and 5th finger on my left hand. This started with numbness in my finger tips about 5 years ago. My gait is off. My eye sight is much worse. I am so constipated that I have to take a laxative 2 x week. This is very new for me and on top of that, my memory is getting bad.
I saw a neurologist and had an MRI that was negative. What now?

There is no pain in my hand, just intermittent numbness. No weakness in the hand but the neurologist that did the examine said that I have neuropathy in both hands and both feet. I am a nurse with 35 years of experience but I am baffled. I really thought I had MS but the MRI was normal. Oh, by the way I am not diabetic either. I have really never had any serious illnesses.

I would have to agree with your neurologist that you seem to be having a case of peripheral neuropathy, and the MRI seems to confirm this.
Has any testing been done for this, like an NCV 9nerve conduction velocity).
Peripheral neuropathy can have a large number of causes and can lead to the symptoms that you have described.
