joint pain
Sent to Health Experts July 19 11:39 PM

Over 1 year ago, I suddenly started having joint pain in my hips, shoulders, r heel, and esp my elbows. I have taken ASA, Lodine, & naprosyn.I saw an orthopedist who dx'd my elbows as lat. epilcondylitis, injected Depomedrol & orderd PT for 8 weeks.I have since had repeated injections in both elbows, my R hip and shoulder. My RA, lyme, and uric acid were WNL. My calcium is high normal. General chemistries were WNL. Bone density shows osteopenia and an MRI of my R shoulder shows moderate DJD with a spur. I am stiff mornings and hurt in my back or one or more joints almost all the time. I now take Glucosamine, Fishoil capsules, Naprosyn, Calcium, Tylenol, Multivitamin, actonel, synthroid and Darvocet when I can't tolerate the dsicomfort anymore. I also had Hasimotto's thyroiditis and have been on synthroid for 22 years. No other significant hx esp childbirth. My maternal grandmother and aunt had/have respectfully Zollinger Ellison syndrome, my aunt also had parathyroid surgery for high calcium, my mom has low thyroid. Osteoporosis in mat. grandmother and her mother. My father has gout and DJD. I am a 48yo nurse and am unsure if something other than that listed previously could be going on with me, ie.. autoimmune disorder or what type of physician I should see to find out, as have seen my internist and orthopedist who seem to focus on 1 joint only and not the whole picture. I am worried as this started suddenly not gradually as I would expect bone disease to do. Please help, what should I be checked for and who should I see?
