what causes headaches that stay in the back of the head and make the back of my head feel like its on fire

the first thing that i usually want to rule out when there is a pain in the back of the head is disease of the spine of the neck.... often a disease of the cervical (neck) spine can cause pain in the back of the head...

once that is ruled out then i would like to do further testing such as a CT scan (preferably an MRI of the head) to rule out other conditions that might be causing this pain in the back of the head...

i would advise you to consult a neurologist in your area who will be able to evaluate your condition in a better way..

with the headaches i get they dont move around to the front they stay in the back my balance is affected to and so is my vision now i have noticed they are also coming straight across the back of my head for a short time than go away
to give you an idea last month i was pulled over by the cops on base for speeding they said i was under the influence of something they made me do those sobriety tests to check for balance ect the only thing that saved me from getting booked was i passed a alcohol test that you have to blow into

does a ct scan mri hurt what is it supposed to tell you what triggers them the otc stuff dont work i am on prescription meds to be able to sleep can i mix the otc stuff to make the headaches go away?
