My son has been getting headaches quite frequently

My son has been getting headaches quite frequently lately. The worst one was outside and he mentioned his ears started to hurt while having a headache and he got real sick that evening. He isn't allergic anything and doesn't have allergies. Should I be very concerned about this and bring it up to our family physician. I heard most doctors have no answers for this or cures. What else could I look for to find out why he's constintely getting these headaches?
