I have been experiencing severe throbbing headaches when I laugh, they occur suddenly, stop me in my tracks and are scary. Could this be a symptom of a complicated medical problem?

Have you been having alot of stress in your life ? Or problems of any kind ? Or does it only happen when you are laughing or shaking in some way ?

Hello, Good Morning and welcome to JA.

You say these are only happening when you have a big laugh, so it sounds like a medical problem you are having.

The brain or head can be a very complex area to interpet. But since you say they are stopping you in your tracks, with the sudden severe pain, you need to see your doctor.

He will probably schedule a mri of the head area to make sure there is nothing inside you causing it, and then depending on what he finds, if anything serious can advise you on the next step to take, to find the problem.

It doesn't seem to be brought on by stress or emotional reasons.

So I suggest you make an appointment as soon as possible.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

That's fine, I will let them know, and hopefully a RN will be here. Thanks.
