I have been taking pamelor for six days now. I take 10 mg at night before I go to bed. I was prescribed this medication due to having headaches for 5 weeks prior to going on the medication. I am still having hadaches mostly on the left side near the temple down towards the left eye and ear. Is there anything I can take to releive the pain during the daytime while I am still taking pamelor at night. How long before I can expect results from the pamelor relating to the headache?

Hello, Alan,

10 mg once a day is a very low dose of nortriptylene (Pamelor). You should be able to take acetaminophen or naprosyn for your headache during the day. The best bet though would be to call your doctor's office in the morning and explain that you are still having headaches during the day. Your doctor may want to prescribe a stronger daytime headache drug.
