I have been taking 100 mg daily for quite some time. The headaches have improved moderately and my doctor said that I could discontinue the med at my choice. I am 69 years old, female and in good health other that arthritic issues. My blood pressure is always normal (120/80 or there abouts.

Should I get off the medicine by gradually decreasing the doses or just stop it abruptly?

Are there problems if Nortriptyline is discontinued abruptly. I have been taking the med for chronic headaches, not for psychological problems.

HI

YES you can stop the medicine Nortriptyline, at once

There is no need to taper off(gradually decreasing ) the dose.
