I was on ER and they send my home. That's way I' worried. they didn't do anything. He said I need a rest and lots of fluid. But my heart just beating very fast and I'm just in a fright because I don't think it's good for a heart. And if I lying down I fell the beat everywhere in my body. I'm checking my beat every 5 minutes. Can it be worse? gabriela Belfast UK

Gabriela,

You are dehydrated. A rise in the heart rate is normal in dehydration. Lots and lots of clear liquids is the key (water, Gatorade, juice). If you continue to have these symptoms and cannot hold down liquids, you may need some iv fluids.

Thanks and Happy New Year!
