My father was diagnosed with atypical pseudocholinterase. He almost died after a colonoscopy because of the anesthesia. I'm told I have this hereditary condition. I was also told it is an enzyme lacking in the blood. I was told not to have a "general" anesthesia for my upcoming heart surgery to put in a stent. Please comfirm and define. I'm not sure of the proper spelling.
