I woke up about 4:00 this morning in a sweat, with my heart just racing and wanting to jump out of my chest. I felt nauseaus as well. It passed fairly quickly thank goodness. Your thoughts?

Hello

First the simple stuff. Do you think you may have been having a bad dream? If so it can be a normal response to that.

If not, you may want to make an appointment tomorrow to have your heart checked out just to be on the safe side. If you had an irregular heart beat, that could have caused your symptoms. It may be a warning sign to you of other problems. It's better to be safe than sorry.

If this happens again before you can get into the doctors office, or if it isn't passing when it happens, you will want to get into the ER.

To tell you a cause is impossible without seeing some tests and their results.

Hope that helps,

Please let me know if you have more questions.
