A recent cat scan with intravenous contrast which was taken for chest pains ended up showing a nodule on my breast which wasn't there during my routine mammogram 4 months ago. Now my primary doctor has scheduled me for another mammogram but it is scheduled for 6 weeks from mom. My question is should I be having a routine or diagnositc test and should I wait 6 weeks or insist on one sooner.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

I would be asking for a diagnostic mammo and I would want to have it ASAP
take heart the ct scan you had for your heart is a poor test to delineate breast mass and this incidental finding may be nothing more than artifact. however i would insist on knowing that as soon as possible
best wishes

Thank you for your quick answer to my question. It was helpful. The one point of confusion was the term "artifact".
