I chewed an airborne tablet today. I never took an alka selzer in my life so I unfortunately did not know they woud fizz. Could I have damaged by stomach lining, etc

It really does not hurt, it just feels weird. Now the really bad question. My 5 year old son chewed a half of the tablet. He did not like the way it tasted in a beverage, as he only likes plain water. So, as I said before I did not know it would fizz etc, since I have never used anythinglike that and did not even know what efferfescent(spelling) means.

I asked him he felt okay, if belly hurt etc several times and he looked at me like I was crazy. He said it didn not bother him at all. This was about 9 hours ago. What do you think? He has not complained of anything

No I do not feel if he is not experiencing any symptoms at all after this length of thime that he will suffer any harm from this. It can leave a weird feeling in your stomach but if you are not in any pain then I feel you will both be fine. I would suggest drinking water as this will help to dilute the medication in your stomach and help with any stomach upset you are feeling, but if your son is not showing any signs of discomfort I feel he will be fine as well. Young children will sure let you know if anything is bothering them and I feel if he were feeling any effects from this he would let you know and with it being 9 hours ago if you were going to have any ill effects it would have happened soon after they were ingested.

Thank you for your help. I feel like so stupid. Oh well, we all make mistakes, but I can not forgive myself if my mistake could harm my litle boy.
I think I am extra worried because my Dad is have esophageal cancer surgery tomorrow. There is some poisoned lining for you.

Oh wow I wish your dad the very very best of luck and can understand how worried and tense you must feel. Please do not feel stupid it could happen to anyone. I feel just like you do I could not stand it if I were to accidentally harm one of my children and I have 5 Images available only to Customers.

, but I do not feel he will suffer any harm from this and it was a learning experience!!! I think it would be best if you understand that you are both okay and try and rest as you and your father will need your strength for tomorrow as I am sure it will be a trying day for you. If you should have any further questions please feel free to ask but please do not feel stupid as we have all made mistakes and we will make more before our time is up you know!!! Be rest assured that if either of you were harmed by this mistake you would already know it by now since it was early in the day when this happened. And you are so very welcome for my help!!!!
