I am a 41 year old white female, 5 years ago I had a heart attack and an heart cath. they put in one stent. After the heart cath. the stent callapsed and they had to rush me in to emergency open heart, they did one bypass and I was ok after that. I have Rhematoid Arthritis and I was taking prednizone and methotrexate at the time and they said that that was the cause of the stent callapsing. I smoke still and now have blockages in my legs. Can barely walk. I know when they tell me that it is because of the smoking that they are probably right, but, about a month ago I went to find out the results to a stress test and other test and the doc. said I needed to have another heart cath. due to the arithmia of my heart and they would put stents in my legs. I went to have the test done and was so scared and nervous about the heart cath. failing like it did the first time that I left without having it done. My Question is Is there any way they can treat they arithmia with med's and just put stents in my legs with out having to do the heart cath. I am so nervous from it I am on nerve med's now.
