hello...i really need some help to understand..my mother of 73 has long suffured with what we now know as a tumor/cancer on her back. [left mid back] it was let go for many years. bleeding terribly and horrible pain...about the size of a small football...has formed a huge hole in her back. i have a pic of it if you need to see it. my question is..she had surgery today to have it removed..dr says first 2 or 3 days in hospital..then would cover it with a flap after its removed...but now he says he thinks he got what he could..wont know till after biopsy,,,he says...but couldnt close it. it was too large and deep. so he left it open with it covered with a bandage. and sent her home like three hours later...and say they are going to this devise like a vacumn cover the wound to make it heal over....shes 73...it was majorly infected, she is already weak from blood looss every single day, hemorage...alot of pain and tired...with other issues going on as well..as well as a heart condition...DO YOU THINK THE DR. FELT THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT TO DO FOR HER ...BUT TO RE MOV ETHE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM AS BEST AS HE COULD, TO GIVE HER SOME SORT OF RELIEF AND COULDNT CLOSE IT WITH A FLAP BECAUSE IT WAS TOO DEEP... LEAVING HER WITH THIS TREATMENT..AS HER ONLY HOPE...TO HELP HER HEAL THE BEST FOR THE BEST...THINKING IT WOULD 'TAKE' HER KNOW MATTER WHAT?
