I always feel bloated after a meal. It seems to cause a shortness of breath sensation.
I try to eat healthy, but I have at least 2 slices of wheat bread daily, could it be a wheat buildup? I seldom eat whites or sweets. I love milk; although I don't drink much, maybe 3-4 glasses a week. My biggest meal is at lunch time. I have gained about 10 to 15 lbs in the last year. I have osteoporisis, and I take Actonel and 1200 mg of Calcium daily.

The wheat buildup you mention - wheat intolerance or celiac sprue - does not present as you describe
see http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/celiacdisease.html- for indepth discussion of this issue.
Your weight gain and bloating with meals along with the sensation of shortness of breath concern me for mild heart failure.
If you have risk factors like high blood pressure or diabetes, then it is even more likely.
Have your doctor evaluate your heart and your fluid status. Once this life threatening issue is addressed, then you can investigate the possible gastrointestinal reasons why your symptoms occur.
please keep me posted

I do not have diabetes or high blood pressure; infact I usually have a low blood pressure reading. I am very thirsty however and i understand that could be a diabetic warning. Otherwise I have alot of energy and feel well most of the time.

Thank-you, I will call my doctor for a checkup.
