my mother has been diagnosed with copd(emphysema & chronic bronchitis), what I need to know and I want the brutal truth, she refuses to quit smoking and I am trying my hardest to get her to stop, but what will happen with her if she doesn't quit, and continues down this path. I am afraid she will end up w/ cancer, or die in her own lung fluid. I try to get her to stop, but she is very sneaky and i can. She has been smoking sice she was 14 and she is pushing 60. Help, i need to have more knowh\ledge of what could happen if she doesn't quit and what to expect.
