I have been having slight pain in my upper chest and some dizziness which all seems to increase when I eat. It goes away when I lay down. About three weeks ago, I was having the same problems and went to the ER. I was given an EKG, a series of blood tests were done, as well as a chest x-ray. Everything came back normal: heart, kidneys, liver, etc. The ER doctor suspected acid reflux so he put me on Prilosec for 14 days. Could this be a repeat?

It's possible. Could be GERD, Gall Stones, I would be more inclined to think gall stones, cause if you lie down with GERD it generally becomes worse. It's good that the heart and all that checked out normal. I would highly suggest following up with a Gastroenterologist to explore GERD/reflux and even the gall bladder as well.

Here are some links you can read over as well, which may give you a clearer picture too.

  • Heartburn/GERD

  • Peptic ulcer

  • Hiatal hernia
  • Gallstones
