on and off I get this dull pain in the middle of my chest
Sent to Health Experts April 21 10:10 PM

on and off I get this dull pain in the middle of my chest between my breasts when I move the wrong way or bend down or sit the wrong way it doesnt happen all the time just on & off through out the day, also I sometimes get this dull pain under my left breast by my rib & dull pain in my upper back, I started working out a couple months ago & upped my weights about a week ago, could this be a pulled muscle from the weights? every so often I get a feeling like when you go down a steep hill & feel like your stomach has dropped well I get that in my chest sometimes & I think that is anxiety because I have a history of panic attacks, I just feel like I am always at the docters for my anxitety & didnt want to go quite yet for this, & I started working out to help the stress, my panic attacks have been under control & i am on no medication I should mention these dull pains have only started since I have been working out & i am 40lbs overweight so i am trying to get back in shape I do 40 minutes of eliptical, bike & treadmill 3 times a week & about 30 min of weights 3 times a week I should mention no pain while doing any cardio excerscises, I just had a ekg & chest xray about 2 weeks ago for the anxiety check up & this started after those so should I go back or could it just be pulled muscles from not working out in solong until now

Yes it is very possible that this pain is caused by upping the weights but you really should see a doctor about this before doing any more cardio. There may be a underlying heart problem that the EKG didn't catch. It's better to be safe than sorry hun. I would try stretching really good before and after each workout and throughout the day and drink plenty of water. Over the counter Aleve can help with the pain. Give it another week and if you still have this pain you should see a doctor just to rule out anything major. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.

Reply to James Grant's Post: so should I totally stop working out for a week then see the doctor if it stays?, because before this pain I was at the doctor for anxiety pains & he said if I could do 40 minutes of cardio with no pain or trouble breathing there is nothing wrong with me its all in my head, well I changed docters because that was the problem with them is I started having severe panic attacks 3 yrs ago & until I was put on paxil for two years I dont think he really understood what it is like, but I have been off paxil for 10 months I was struggling & the docter put me back on paxil well i was only able to take it for a week somehow my body changed & it freaked me out I started wigging out on the stuff & had to stop it, I was on it a week & have been off it for two weeks now, can it be from that? started about the same time? I like I said it comes & goes like I probably felt it about 5 times today & its not sharp its pretty dull, but I was thinking if it was a pulled muscle would I feel it alot more then I am, thanks for replying again, just at my witts end with all this, lol thanks again

I would not do cardio for a week and decrease the amount of weights you are using. This will give the doctor an idea of how to treat you (based on your results from no cardio and decreased weight.) Also the changes that your body is probably going through with being on and off Paxil must be very strenuous. While seeing your doctor about the chest pain, I would ask to be prescribed another medication to help you with your anxiety. The doctor should be able to find one that will work well with you personally.
