A diagnosis of Inappropriate sinus tachycardia done by exclusion of other causes for sinus tachycardia. Some symptoms may be:
A resting Sinus tachycardia is usually (but not always) present. Your rate is high /normal depending on sex/age and weight.
Nocturnal dip in Heart rate
Inappropriate Heart rate response on exertion
Mean Heart rate in 24hrs >95bpm
Hypotension
Episodes of syncope (fainting) is occasionally reported
Symptoms related to tachycardia (dizziness, palpitaions, short of breath, anxiety, chest tightness)
If this happens frequently, is prolonged or is symptomatic a full cardiac work up is recommended.
