My brother just had a heart pump implanted and needs to stay away from TV's and computer screens because of the static electricity, do LCD screens have the same static charge as CRT screens?

My brother just got a heart pump implant and was told to stay away from TV and computer screens because of the static electric charge they build up. Do LCD (flat panel and laptop)computer screens develope the same static electric charge as CRT screens do? Thanks.

I searched several web sites and although some said they have less static electricity, they still have some. So it probably wouldn't be safe, for his use.

But you can call Best Buy.They say that there are products you can buy to eleminate the static.

So it might not be safe for his use.But you can check and see what Best Buy suggests.
