I will assume that you have been to the doctor to rule out the serious conditions that cause chest pain, such as heart attack, angina, pulmonary embolism, etc.? The most common cause of benign chest pain is anxiety or panic attacks. When you first get them and are unaware of an anxiety, stress issue, you think the chest pain came first. When actually, the stress you have been feeling all day caused it. Do you feel a rapid pulse, shortness of breath, cold sweats, or panic during these issues?

Does it occur when you are breathing heavier? Another cause is pleurisy. The inflammation of the pleura sac around the lungs. The inflammation causes the fluid in the sac to decrease causing friction when you breath. It can feel a lot like this as well. This goes away on its own usually but, it would be best to go to the doctor to rule out a respiratory issue. If it is caused by anxiety, a simple anxiety med or a beta blocker can help you tremendously. Also, therapy would be a great thing to invest in if stress and anxiety are causing you physical symptoms. Stress can cause many disorders down the line if not controlled.

Does this help you?

I do not have shortness of breath, cold sweats, or panic. However,I believe pulse goes up after an episode of 5 or more. It is not brought on by breathing heavy. Can you recommend a specific med?

Your doctor would be able to recommend and prescribe one for you depending on your health history and physical assessment. I don't know of a MD that wouldn't want to evaluate you first with a complaint of chest pain. I think after the right medication you will feel much better though.
