Hi, my name is Jackie Bisconti and I suffer from chronic intractable pain. My MRI showed a bulging disc and degenerative disc disease. I also have a lot of scar tissue and my lower back is always swollen and I'm always in pain. I'm 26 and have been suffering for 6 years now. I've spent a lot of money on doctors who treat me as if I'm some common criminal looking for drugs. I'm at the end of my rope. The only thing that gives me relief are the narcotic pain meds and I can't seem to get any help. I have another appt. on Mon. with a Spine Surgeon but the last one said they wouldn't do surgery. Please help me! I don't know what else to do. Thanks for your time.

Have you gone to a clinic that specializes in treating pain?

If not, would you consider it?

If you would consider this option, please post back with your location and I will do some research to find pain treatment centers in your area.

Reply to Steve -- a.k.a. Oreport's Post: Hi, this is Jackie Bisconti and I really appreciate your reply. I live in Franklin, North Carolina and there's one pain doctor here but I'm supposed to be reffered by my doctor and I haven't been able to reach him. They want me to go to a spine doctor first which is $400! I would really appreciate it if you could find me a pain doctor either in Asheville, NC or a place within 1-1and a half hours from Franklin. Are there pain specialists I can go to without being reffered? Please let me know and thanks again.
