hart problems

Sent to Health Experts July 16 02:55 PM

Hi. My name is Siiri Magi. I live in Cincinnati but my aunt lives in Estonia (eastern europe). She was hospitalised 4 months ago. Diagnosis on her chart is 1) morbus cardiacus thyreotoxicus 143,8
2)fibrillatio atriorum cordis permanens   148
3) insufficientia cordis chronica II-III      (NYHA j.)150,9
4)Hypothyreoidismus post interventionem E 89,0

What does it mean? Does it mean she is gonna be ill forever and nothing can be done?
Is there any surgery for that?
I forgat to tell you yhat before she got really ill they told her to get a shot to fix her thyroid problem. In my language they call it Radio iodine treatment. It was given her febr.27 2006.Please tell me she is gonna be ok.. Thank you.I wait for your answer. Thanks again. Sincerely:Siiri

It seems that your aunt has had hyperthyroidism (increased thyroid) that lead to heart related complications and a very weak heart, along with atrial fibrillation- a heart rhythm abnormality. After treatmetn with radio-active iodine, she seem now to be suffering from a common complication of this treatment, hypothyroidism (LOW thyroid levels).
She will need life long replacement thryoxine treatment, and followup for her heart problem, on which she should be alright...

Reply to Gaurav Gupta's Post: about this hart condition...Can it be fixed with some surgery? I know she alredy takes somekindof replacement hormones for her thyroid. Or is this hart condition and weakness is gonna go away or it's gonna stay the same for the rest of her life? Thats all I promise not to bother anymore. Thanks
