Reply to Pam's Post: No, I just took her to a nighttime pediatric place to get her looked at, she is really not feeling well. When they took her vitals I saw that the machine read 198, then 199 then 200...topped out at 202. Then they came back twice and checked it again. No I have not given her any meds this evening, she refuses everything. Im considering taking her to the ER.

Reply to Pam's Post: She keeps complaining that her back hurts, and her sides. She also keeps pointing to her cheek area on her face. The dr at the pediatric place said that her ears checked out fine. She has a fever of 101.2, no cough but she is complaining that her chest hurts and her back and sides. She is refusing everything, liquids, foods and meds.

Ok, the fever is what is causing the increased heart rate. She may very well have some kind of viral infection, which antibiotics will not do any good. She is probably having aches and pains in the places she is pointing out because her fever is elevated. I would say that if you could get her to maybe have some popcicles or some kind of fluids, it would probably bring her fever down. Also tylenol alternating with ibuprofen helps too. You can bathe her in tepid water. But, if she will not let you do any of these, her fever will probably begin to rise because she will become dehydrated. Dehydration always makes the fever rise. In this case you will need to take her to the ER. If you can do all of the above then you could probably wait until tomorrow to see how she is feeling.
