Swollen eye lid
Sent to Health Experts August 04 08:52 PM

About once a month, sometimes more frequently, I get a swollen eyelid. It is always the same eye. It starts as like a bubble on my eyellid, then progressively gets larger and larger. I can usually tell when it is going to happen because it itches. As soon as I touch it, it gets extremely large. It looks like my lid is filled with air. The swelling usually lasts for about a day, and nothing I have tried will reduce the swelling. It has been happening for years, yet no one can tell me what causes it. Everyone keeps telling me it is an allergy, but I believe that isnt true. I have documented what I eat, where I have been, soap, detergeant, make up, etc. Nothing comes up the same. Sometimes I wake up with it. Please help. Can you tell me what might be causing this, and how I can prevent it from happening. The eye itself seems to be fine.

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: It isnt hot. There are no tears. It usually starts on the lid, and will spread to the area abobe the lid, under the brow.

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: My eye doesnt look like either of the pictures in the link. The actual lid swells my eye almost completely closed. It looks like I was punched in the eye, but no bruising. It is very uncomfortable, and it itches very badly.

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: I did read it. My eyelid swelling is not painless. It is very uncomfortable and it itches like crazy. It swells so much that my eye is almost completely closed.

Since you are describing it as painful and itching the possibility of its inflammatory in origin is not ruled out
