Does anyone have any ideas of what to do-or some miracle that could help him walk without serious pain? Would soooooooooooooooooooo appreciate any ideas.

Why was your father taken off the arthritis medication?

What medicine was he on? What type of arthritis?

Does he have any other medical problems besides the heart attack?

Is he taking any medication? Any allergies?

He was on Celebrex-the reason per the doctor was because it put too much strain on his heart. Sorry but I don't know all of the medications that he is currently on, but I can get them from him. I don't really understand this "medical talk", but my understanding is that the lower part of his heart is dead? It no longer works. He also had a defibulator put in. They also took him off of some medicine that helped him with a serious kidney stone problem-same reason too much strain the heart. He has sooo many problem with the arthritis, and the Celebrex gave him a little relief. No allergies. The arthritis is from a variety of things-college he had a scholarship for football, but blew out his knee the first year.-Years of playing baseball, coaching and umpiring with the bad knee-He has serious arthritis in his hands..don't know. He has never taken pain killers for any of these aches-he's one of those "tough guys". That's why I am really hoping that you can point me in the right direction-he's honestly half the man physically that he was and I don't like seeing it. If you need me to obtain all medications, I will call him. Thanks so much for your assistance.

There are a few "alternative treatments" for arthritis; Glucosamine and chondroitan are probably the safest and most widely studied

Another approch is viscosupplementation - injecting a perparation of hyaluronic acid into the knee joint

Without knowing his medications and more about him, I would be unable to give much more information. These are things he should discuss with his physician or an orthopedic surgeon
