I had severe pain in the lower part of the left part of my stomach that laster for about two hours I started sweating real bad and ended up trying to take one of my nitro tablets even though I didn't feel that it was my heart and for some reason it worked. I have no idea what caused this pain and it radiated down into my leg and I have not had it since. I have a heart stent and am 68 years old. What could have possibly caused this?

Hello,

It was a good decision of yours to take a nitro tablet for the pain. Occasionally, pain from the heart can appear to be from the abdomen. The radiation down the leg could have been from stimulation of the sensory nerves of the legs by the pain. And yes, it will be a good idea to visit the ER if you get this pain again. I think it had originated from the heart.

I hope this helps.
