Sent to Health Experts September 04 10:42 PM

coronary vasospams present for 6 years and seems to be getting worse with time, now developing swelling ,mostly controlled with diuretics, but can't tolerate high enough dose to control all the time and shortness of breath is bad at times. We have used narcotics to control spasm as well as going to ER for Iv nitro to stop the spasm. At times I have a blue mask around my lips..It appears to me its the Prinz metal angina with a bit of heart failure. Does this condition just worsen with time and everything that I have read says life span is shortened and you are more prone to sudden death.

Thanks for your thought.

Pat,

Your situation is very complex.

Since you have arteriosclerotic coronary artery disease, you do not fall into the strict classification of Prinzmetal's variant angina (click here for more information). This is not to say that you do not have coronary spasm and fall into a middle ground.

Please tell me where you live and about the doctors who have been taking care of you.
