Reply to Deborah's Post: I am her sister and she is using meth at this time and will not address to get treatment for her hep c. She is not willing to come to parents home to stay and is staying in a drug trailer district. I have the name and address where she does these drugs. Her weight is all but 85 lbs and is going to have an overdose like her husband did two weeks ago. She is incapable of making any rashional decisions and has not visited her children that my parents have state custody as of four years ago.
Is there such a clinic that I can have her stablelized and treated that is paid by the goverment or a non profit organization?

Are you in Las Vegas too? If not do you have the capability to travel there?

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to give you as many options as possible.

If you can travel to Las Vegas, you can have the police pick her up and have her placed in a facility. You can go before a judge and ask that she be placed in the hospital due to the fact she is mentally unstable and harming herself not only with drugs, but by not treating her Hep C.

They will not be able to hold her indefinitely, but will keep her until her mental status is determined. They will keep her until she is recovered and mentally stable.

Reply to Deborah's Post: Thank you so much debrah, I hope that they aare able to keep her off the streets till she gets recovery for this. If she gets out I'm afraid she'll go missing again for 3 weeks. She has reached out to me by phone and I am trying to keep her from getting access to funds that she will be using for drugs as well as harms way with the company that surrounds her daily.
My wish is for her to have some qaulity time in good health with her boys for however long she has with us on this earth. They love her so and miss their daddy.
Thank you again for being here for me and god bless.

Rachel,

You are very welcome, I know how heart wrenching this is. My cousin was in the same situation, we couldn't keep her off of drugs. Her brother was a Miami-Dade narcotics detective, he did everything in his power to help her, as did I as a nurse. Finally, she was found dead from an overdose in a sleazy motel in the Coconut Grove.

I hope you can get to Las Vegas and get her the help she needs. I go back and forth to Vegas a lot from CA and know that there is a low tolerance to homelessness and drugs, it shouldn't be too hard to get her the help she needs, especially as she is mentally incompetent to make her own decisions.
