My father is 70 years old. He has a history of glaucoma and hypertension which has been well treated for many years. Two weeks ago he came down with a sinus infection/ear infection. Eventually the ear drum burst and leaked fluid. At the same time he had kanker sores in his mouth at the back of his mouth and a persistent cough. He took one round of amoxil and one round of cephalexin.   Before the last dose of cephalexin he started to feel terrible again and has stomach pain, throat pain and coughs continuously. He can't eat and is barely drinking. He saw a doctor today who said it its acid reflux. Does this sound correct?

Your father has side effects of the cephalexin including acid reflux which can cause heart burn.
