i’ve had a tapping feeling on my heart kind of a flutter, i some times wonder if my heart is skipping a beat or straining? i’ve had this for years, it happens every so often for a few seconds, some times it seem to happen before a bowel movement, dont know if there related, often thought i may of cracked a rib when i was younger and maybe it puts presure on my heart, i think that because i have not been able to sleep on my left side for years, because after a few minutes i would get a sharp pushing pain, different from the other pain.

It could be a heart defect you may have been born with called a patent foramen ovale, which happens during a bowl movement the blood backs up into the heart .Go to this website to read further, and see your cardiologist,as perhaps its gotten worse, however if one is born with it most of the time its just watched and meds like a beta blocker are given tenormin.
