Over the past weekend, my sister has been experiencing some dull pain in her chest when she inhales and exhales. She is describing it as tightness mainly when she inhales, and dull pain as she exhales. She has a very high tolerance to pain, but is obviously concerned because of the location of the pain. Should she go to the doctor immediately? She is concerned that the problem may possibly be her heart.

Thanks so much!

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: We do have a family history of heart disease on our mother's side. The pain is not constant, but if it starts while she is exercising or otherwise exertng herself, she stops immediately b/c it is slightly more intense. No associated sweating. No history of coughing or weezing, but seemingly associated shortness of breath. No burning sensation.

Thank you so much for your help!
