Hello,

If you are still bleeding , then it would be a good idea to consult a doctor. If you are not, you can apply Preparation-H ointment and take Motrin tablets (500mg twice daily after food for 5 dyas) to decrease the inflammation and see for a few days. The hemorrhoids may decrease in size and not cause you nay more problems.

I hope this helps.

I am still bleeding a very little bit, but I am also straining alittle bit to go to the restroom because now I am experiencing some constipation.. I am leaving for vacation tonight and I don't know if I can get into a doctor before I leave tonight.. If I see how it is in a few days do you think that would be ok.. I can see blood over laying my stool and I didn't know if bleeding from hemroids could cause actual blood in my stool or just on the toilet paper.. I have very light bleeding on the toilet paper. I am just concerned the bleeding is due to something serious but I think it is just from straing and possibly tearing something.. Please advise.. Thank you so much

Hello,

If you are still bleeding a little, it will be good idea to use both rectal suppositories as well as ointments to decrease the bleeding and inflammation.

- Insert a Anusol-HC rectal suppository inside your anus every night before you sleep for 7 days. This will decrease inflammation and swelling of the haemorrhoids.

- Apply Preparation H Clear gel inside the anus as soon as you get up in the morning and before passing stool. This will act as a lubricant and also cause constriction of the blood vessels of the haemorrhoids. Apply the gel again after passing stool as high up as you can inside the anus.

- Take a Motrin tablet 500 mg twice daily after food for 5 days to reduce pain and inflammation.

- As far as possible, do not strain at stool. Drink at least 2 glasses of water before going to bed and 1 glass of warm water on empty stomach in the morning for increased intestinal movements and smooth passage of stool. If you feel that the stool is hard and may need straining, apply an increased amount of the gel inside the anus and wait for some time for the lubricant action to take place.

Fresh blood staining the toilet paper or streaking the the stool is usually due to haemorrhoids. Bleeding higher up the intestinal tract would have produced black stool with the blood mixed in the stool. Ocasionally, if there are rectal polyps, you may have fresh bleeding, but this is not an emergency either and you can easily return from your vaction and then consult a doctor.

I hope this helps.
