i had been taking laxatives on and off for a bout a month, and stopped a few days ago but now im noticing some blood in my stools. is this something i should be concerned about or will it go away with time?

You may need to be seen by a proctologist who can look inside in his office by anoscopy and/ or flexible sigmoidoscopy to rule out anal fissure or hemorrhoids etc. For more information please click the link just below:

Until you see a doctor or go to an Emergency Room you can use over the counter medications such as Preparation H cream.
