Hello,

I believe that you have two different problems going on.

One problem is that you are suffering from some amount of gastritis - inflammation of the inner lining of the stomach. This will cause heartburn, nausea and vomiting, especially on an empty stomach. To control this problem, please take the following steps:

- Take sips of ice cold water throughout the day from time to time. You can take some now. This will cool the stomach tissue and decrease acid secretion, dilute the acid and decrease the pain to sme extent. Ice-creams and cold custard also work, plus since they are semisolid, they have less chances of trickling upwards and causing heartburn.

- Take 4-5 small meals instead of 3 major meals. Ice-cold rice pudding is ideal for you.

- Avoid greasy, fried food .

- Sleep in a propped up position instead of flat on the bed to prevent acid reflux.

- As soon as you wake up in the morning and before getting up from bed, nibble at 2-3 dry crackers. These will absorb whatever acid and gas has collected in your stomach overnight. Lie quietly in bed for another 30 minutes.

- Liquid and solid food is not to taken together. Liquids are to be taken at least 1 hour after solids.

- Take an antacid called Mucaine gel, OTC. This contains an antacid as well as a local anaesthetic and willl decrease the hearburn.

- Gelusil is an antacid that contains a substance called simethicone. This is capable of absorbing gases from the stomach, reducing bloating..

- Take Nexium, available OTC. It will work better than an antacid since it decreases gastric acid secretion.

Your second problem is blood in your stools. Since the blood is red, it is coming from somewhere in the rectum, anus or lower gut. The causes could be:

1. Hemorrhoids.

2. Infections.

3. Anal cancer.

4. Rectal Cancer

5. Anal fissure.

6. Anal Fistula

7. Infected rectal polyps.

As you can see from the list, while some of the conditions are easily treatable like gonorrhea, anl fistual, anal fissure and hemorrhoids, others can be quite dangerous.

Please get a check up from a proctologist (a doctor who specializes in diseases of the anus and rectum). You need an early diagnosis and treatment.

If you are having bad stomach pains now, it is likely to be due to the gastritis - please take a Nexium tablet. At the same time take Mucaine gel 2 tsf to decrease the burning sensation. If you are unable to go out and get the medicines, please go to the ER. You need to be examined and treated.

I hope this helps.
