I had blood in my stool. At first I thought it was something I had eaten, but upon closer examination it was blood, bright red, in the stool, almost like the clots when you have had a bloody nose. Not large at all.

Dear Customer (name blocked for privacy)

Bright red blood in the stool mean that the blood most likely is coming from the lower part of the GI tract like hemorrhoids and diverticulitis which is inflammation of an abnormal pouch in the colon.

Anal fissure, infections, polyps and ischemia of the bowel can cause it as well.

I recommend that you visit your MD and have it checked.
