Hello,
An external umbilical hernia usually do not cause these symptoms except when the bowels get impacted in the hernia. Stomach upset or fullness of stomach can be caused by an internal hernia called Hiatus Hernia of stomach. So regardless of the cause, you will benefiit from antiacid medications like Pepto- Bismol or Zantac. I would recommend that you visit a gastroenterologist for complete evaluation and definitive treatment.

Regards.
