Greetings Customer (name blocked for privacy),

As you are experiencing, a hiatal hernia can cause significant symptoms since the sphincter at the esophageal-gastric junction becomes significantly weakened. You are already taking the appropriate medication that will help neutralize the acid the stomach produces. Here are a couple recommendations:
1) If you haven't had a EGD (upper endoscopy) recently, it is very important that you have one in order to rule out precancerous and cancerous lesions in the esophagus.
2) Since the medication regimen you are on is unsuccessful, you should consult a general surgeon to see if you are a candidate for surgical correction.

Sincerely,

Dr.Bernon
