What are concerns of a femoral hernia with pregnancy?

What are concerns of a femoral hernia with pregnancy? I am 6 wks preg. and just found out I have a femoral hernia. I have been advised surgery is ususally the next step for repair but will that be possible for me? What will happen if I don't have the surgery until after I deliver? Will my delivery be at risk will the hernia? Will my pregnancy be at risk if I don't have this hernia fixed?
