REPLIED Check Mark

A lumbar hernia is a rare type of hernia that a person may be born with, may develop spontaneously and may develop from trauma. Lumbar hernia's are more common after a kidney surgery as well.
Symptoms would include backache, flank pain (sides of the abdomen pain), nausea, a feeling of pulling or weighted feeling in the flank. Usually a soft mass can be felt on the side of the abdomen which if pushed on will disappear.
This can be corrected with surgery.
If you are looking for more information simply go to google as a search engine and type in
lumbar hernia there are various websites availble to look through. Please contact me if you have further questions.

How is a lumbar hernia surgery preformed and what is the percentage rate of some one having one?

I know you said it was rare but how rare?

Also, are there risk of having problems that will cause life long pain where the incision is made?
